Character Attendant

Another popular role due to its proximity to Characters and its status as an Entertainment role (technically) is that of Character Attendant.   Basically you are like a Personal Assistant to the characters – you are there to maintain order and safety at Character meet and greet locations including character dining events.

One important thing to note: you will need a thick skin to do this role.   With perhaps the exception of Guest Services Character Attendants arguably deal with irate and ‘challenging’ guests more than any other Cast Members.  You definitely should keep that in mind when considering this role.

Disney’s official description for this role says:

Character Attendant
  • Providing Guests with information about show schedules, character locations and visitation times
  • Providing audience control, including handling challenging Guest situations
  • Ensuring the safety of Character Performers and our Guests
  • Partnering with Photopass photographers
  • Maintaining show quality and character integrity
  • Setting up and removing stanchions, ropes and poles
  • Assisting Character Performers with putting on costumes
  • Retrieving and arranging strollers

That’s all I can really tell you about this role at the moment.  Once I’m on my program I will try to find out more information and update this page accordingly.
