Resort Hospitality/Front Desk

If you’re interested in working at one of the Disney resort hotels, then this might be the role for you.   You will be assigned to one or two ‘home’ hotels and you will possibly be one of the first cast members that guests meet on their vacation.  The most obvious duty in this role is working the front desk of a hotel, where you will be responsible for checking guests in and out, giving out information, and making sure the guest’s needs are met.  However, some of the other duties might include creating gift baskets and welcome booklets, delivering luggage, answering telephones and being a ‘runner’ which involves delivering and collecting things to and from various different hotels.

This is a high guest interaction role and as guests often have very specific requirements when staying in a hotel it no doubt brings some unique challenges.  If you want to do this role be prepared to encounter some demanding, tired and grumpy guests who will expect you to work magic for them.  The other important thing to note is that because the hotels are in operation 24 hours a day, you may work some very odd hours in this role – so be prepared for that.

Here’s Disney’s official description:

Resort Hospitality / Front Desk

  • Operating computer-based reservation and ticketing systems
  • Lifting, tagging, and delivering luggage

That’s all I can really tell you about this role at the moment.  Once I’m on my program I will try to find out more information and update this page accordingly.
